Mountains, Mysteries, and a Fresh Start: Our Wild Move to Harper’s Ferry

It has been a crazy week, to say the least. If you’ve been following along, you know our last spot in Pennsylvania was... well, let’s just say I’m glad it’s in the rearview mirror. It was the kind of place that made me want to pull my hair out every single day.
We couldn’t hitch up fast enough.

The Mystery of the Dash Light
We jumped into the new truck, ready for a smooth transition, but the universe had other plans. Just five miles into the journey, the dreaded check engine light flickered on.
I pulled over and plugged in the code reader, heart sinking, only to find... nothing. No codes. No errors. Just a bright orange light staring back at me that refused to clear. After a lot of pacing and a "gut-check" moment, we decided to push on.

The 1st towing with Bonny
I’ll admit, my heart was in my throat for the entire drive. But I have to give credit where it’s due: the new truck "Bonny" handled "Nomads Gambit" like she wasn't even there. Despite the mystery light, the ride was smooth, and we made it to our destination without a single mechanical hiccup.
Home Sweet (Mountain) Home
The second the mountains came into view, the stress started to melt away. We’ve officially landed at the Harper's Ferry KOA, and the scale of this place is incredible.
The Setup Situation:
The Neighborhood: We’re tucked in the back with the seasonal residents—which feels right since that’s where us workampers usually gravitate.
The Coworkers: I already met two of my new coworkers, a couple of veteran guys who helped lead me to my site.
The Site: We have a great spot with no neighbor to our left, just a fence and some privacy.
The Struggle: Being a 2WD truck, we had a hell of a time getting up the small hill into the site at a tough angle. We’re currently "unlevel as hell," but that’s a problem for tomorrow.
What’s Next?
I took a quick tour of the grounds and I am honestly amazed by what they have here. It’s a massive upgrade from our last stop, and I’m actually looking forward to getting started.
I start work this Monday! I’ll be sure to check back in and let you all know how the first day on the job goes. For now, I’m going to sit back, look at those mountains, and finally breathe.
